How do you all feel about rescues who buy dogs and puppies from Puppy Mills?
Do you (you meaning rescue group) buy dogs from Puppy Mills? If yes, why? If no, why?
Thanks for answering.

We do not buy dogs from Puppy Mills...however we are swamped with pleas all the time about dogs coming from backyard breeders or being saved from that situation.
Thanks for answering. I am in turmoil over it. Seems like a lot of rescue in my area BUY puppies and dogs from puppy mills. I understand if a mill gets busted and helping the dogs that were seized but buying them? I just can't rationalize that and I am trying to find out what other peoples opinions are... Thanks again.
I can't imagine buying them either. There are so many dogs and pups in need, it's so overwhelming. We are to focused on saving the ones on death row, I hadn't even thought of the idea of buying them. But I do know there are rescues out there that do just that, and I think it's amazing that they are able to save those dogs from such a horrible life, but at the same time is depressing because you know they will just be replaced with new dogs. We have saved puppy machine dogs from kill shelters after they have been dumped when they are deemed unworthy by the puppy mill owners. They are some of the saddest dogs I've seen, and their poor bodies have been through so much, it just breaks your heart. They need rescue as well.
The other issue is money. I can't speak for all rescues, but we are massively in debt and there is no way we could afford to buy those dogs. Maybe some other rescues are more fortunate with their funds.
It's a tough one, it really is.
I don't understand people who buy a puppy mill dog. I'm not a rescuer but a dog lover and am very concerned. People I've spoken to are so so uneducated about the mills. I've actually heard them say how wonderful the mills are and how the dogs are so happy. I wonder, do they really think these places are going to show you the "behind the scenes" area.
